Emily's Kitchen
Without leaving her kitchen Emily travels on a vibrant journey with high quality physical theatre, live music and live projection .
Daydreaming through life, Emily imagines herself part of the radio programmes she hears. She watches cabaret singers, climbs mountains, sets sail, applauds at The Royal Albert Hall and has her own personal agony aunt.
One day she sails too far and is lost in the radio waves. An epic adventure ensues. Together the radio personalities hunt through the radio in search of Emily, whilst Emily herself searches for a way out.
A powerfully physical piece where body language and atmosphere says as much as what is spoken, Emily's Kitchen explores our dreams, hopes and fantasies. Emily’s Kitchen was made possible by funding from Arts Council England and support by Oxford House Art Centre.
Emily’s Kitchen was seen at:
Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh Fringe (Aug 06),
Oxford House Art Centre, Bethnal Green, London (May 05)

“Emily's Kitchen is a rich, flawless piece of theatre. Every scene is woven together with creative perfection...Mugs of tea become clarinets and armchairs become sails - all totally comprehensible due to technical brilliance and an immensely strong cast. An extremely ambitious show, one only a company this talented could pull it off. Sends shivers down your spine and covers you in goosebumps.”
